A game changer!
Bautifully made and a genius idea. I got the 48" sink with the drainboard that fits in the 30" cabinet and it totally changed the way I prepare food. I installed the sink leaving the space on the edge for the double level for the accessories and that opens up a whole new world. Purchased both sizes of the cutting boards as well. Now I prepare everything at the sink and my kitchen stays impeccably clean. Thank you Create Good Sinks!
We are now finally in our new home, using your wonderful new sink. The 47" with drain board. My last review was only three stars because we had received the sink with no problems, but it sat in storage until the kitchen was ready for it.
Now I can give the sink five stars. I enjoy the drain board with its rack as a drying area. For me the 8 inch depth is perfect, as I am a short person. The extra big strainer is great for composting.
In my original phone contact, earlier this year, I greatly appreciated the time the owner took to understand what I was looking for and wanted. This sink pretty much hit the mark.
I love my workstation sink with the drainboard extension. I particularly love the drainboard because it provides a natural and sleek place for a dishrack. I'd give it 5 stars except for two issues I encountered. (1) The drainboard is advertised as fitting above any dishwasher. When my contractor went to install it, he said it wouldn't fit over the dishwasher I bought (a German brand, Miele). I don't know if that's true or not, I wasn't there. But the contractor replaced my standard Miele dishwasher with an "ADA compliant" Miele dishwasher (which has adjustable feet) in order to get the dishwasher to fit under the drainboard. In addition, because the drainboard extends below the countertop, I had to get a small (less than 1") piece of cabinet trim to cover the gap between the top of the dishwasher and the bottom of the countertop. All in all, it works great and looks great. But it was a bit more complicated for me than I'd expected. (2) The second issue is about the disposal. Great Sinks' seamless drains are all designed to work with Insinkerator disposals. My contractor installed a two-stage, 3/4 HP Insinkerator (rather than the typical one-stage, 1/2 HP Insinkerator). It worked fine for a couple weeks. But then the Insinkerator started leaking. Water leaked out the sides of it. I replaced it with a 1/2 HP Insinkerator, and that has worked fine ever since. Thus, I don't know if I just happened to get a 'lemon' when I got the first 3/4 HP Insinkerator, but I suspect not. I suspect the 3/4 HP Insinkerator is just too heavy for the unique mounting system Great Sinks uses with their seamless drain (it is materially heavier than the 1/2 HP version). So, for anyone thinking of putting a 3/4 HP disposal on their Great Sink, I'd recommend against it. (It certainly didn't work for me.)

This is getting installed into a butcher block, so having the integrated drainboard is key to keeping the counter from water damage.
Love the size of the sink, including the shallower depth and the drainboard. The drain board was the real reason I purchased this sink. It takes some getting used to as far as how best to utilize it and what apparatus (rolling mat etc) work the best for my needs - but I love not having to stack dishes on the counter surface.
I also love the seamless drain, though the drain opening is quite small and impossible to get even a small adult hand into the drain if something needed to be fished out of the disposal (will have to get creative with chopsticks for that task!).
Perhaps the biggest annoyance is the sink bottom design doesn’t allow for thorough or quick draining. Maybe this is the way square bottom sinks are (it’s my first). But it requires a lot of pull down faucet and manual action to clear debris from the sink and get water and debris to the drain.
The finish does scratch quite easily from pots and pans but I figure I’m still breaking it in - it is a heavily used kitchen after all!
I don’t use it much but I love that the drain plug sits on feet instead of rolling around.
Overall, I really like the sink and it appears good quality, very low sound during use (well insulated), and nice size.

I bought the 47" drainboard workstation sink, which apparently is an uncommon selling size; however, I cannot be happier with both the product and the level of service from Dan (owner). He went so far as to scour the warehouse for a slightly damaged sink since this was going into a house that will eventually be a rental. The sink itself is extremely well made and the seamless interface with the garbage disposal is a gorgeous piece of engineering. The sink came in premium packaging, with clear instructions, and all parts and accessories (which Dan was very generous with) included. I ordered the roll mat, the cutting board, and the grid for basin. What really stood out though was Dan's commitment to customer satisfaction -- a rare commodity in an era of generally poor customer service everywhere else. I will DEFINITELY be purchasing my next sink from this company. Cannot sing their praises enough. Look no further, you've found your home's sink here!
